I make a small tent near the beach and put the important things inside to keep them safe from rain. At night, I sleep on the ground with guns nearby for safety. In the morning, I swim back to the ship, make a second raft, and bring good things to the beach. I find candles and tea, which I need on the island. I also find a closed box. Inside, there is money and cards with pictures of the king and queen. I take the money, and the cards are fun to play with. The next day, dark clouds appear, and the wind gets stronger. I stay safe inside my little tent during the strong wind at night. The ship is gone the next morning. I realize I can stay on the island for a long time. I find a good place near a hill, set up my tent, and build a fencearound it. Since there%u2019s no door, so I use a ladder to climb over it. Inside, I have two tents %u2013 a big one for storing things and a smaller one where I live. I have more plans for the future.During a storm, I worry that lightning might hit my gunpowder, so I decide to hide it in rocks. It takes three days, but I do it.I hunt goats every day for meat and explore the island. Though I miss my wife and friends, I feel lucky to be alive and have food, guns, and clothes. To know what day it is, I draw a big cross on the beach to show the date of my arrival. I cut it daily and make it longer for Sundays and last days of the month.I need furniture on the island, so I make a chair and table from wood. It takes five days. I organize my cave, putting clothes and guns there. I decide to write a book about my island life, I start with my first day. At first, I write a page daily, later, I reduce it to just one page a week. My life is well-organized but not boring. Every morning, I walk, work, have lunch, a short nap, and continue work. Evenings are for relaxation or writing.
